Participating Seminar Talks
- 03/05/2024: Spoke in the UCLA participating number theory seminar about how Drinfeld modules can be realized as a special case of shtukas.
- 03/06/2024: Spoke in the UCLA participating algebra seminar on how the existence of a motivic t-structure implies Grothendieck’s standard conjectures.

- 05/03/2023: Gave a talk on the Fargues-Fontaine curve and period rings for the UCLA participating number theory seminar, following a paper of Morrow.
- 03/15/2023: I gave the concluding talk in the UCLA Winter participating Algebra seminar, discussing how to classify semi-simple and reductive groups over an arbitrary field F by studying certain stacks on the pro-etale site of F.
- 03/07/2023: Gave a talk on Banach-Colmez spaces for the UCLA participating number theory seminar.
- 02/21/2023: Gave a talk on Drinfeld’s lemma for diamonds in the UCLA participating number theory seminar.
- 11/29/2022: I gave another talk in the UCLA participating number theory seminar, introducing concepts of nonarchimedean functional analysis, Berkovich spaces, and eigenvarieties.
- You Could Have Condensed Mathematics, slides from a talk I gave on 11/18/2022 to undergraduates at UCLA. (The slides leave out a lot of details in order to try to make the material more accessible, for an honest, yet more technical talk, see the recording from the talk below this one).
- 11/11/2022: I gave a talk introducing condensed math and analytic geometry in the study seminar on homotopy theory and applications, presenting topics out of Clausen and Scholze’s lectures on condensed math and analytic geometry. (The video should be available at the link on researchseminars.org).
- 10/25/2022: Gave a talk introducing ordinary Lambda-adic modular forms, and describing a structure theorem for them in the UCLA participating number theory seminar.
- 10/21/2022: Gave a talk on the Tate construction, and using it to compute the coefficient ring of an RO(G)-graded cohomology theory, following a paper of Greenless in the UCLA participating algebraic topology seminar.
- A talk I gave on Chapter 1 of Elements of Infinity Category Theory by Riehl and Verity as a part of a higher category theory reading seminar organized by Amartya, Vaibhav, Varun (see Miscellaneous page) and myself. Chapter 2 of Elements as a part of the same learning seminar.
